Montelupo Albese is situated just a few kilometers from Alba and is set in the middle of the Langhe region of Piemonte and is surrounded by vineyards which are typical of the region. The name of the town is linked to presence of wolves which populated the area until the end of the last century.
The economy of the town is based on wine production and includes the famous D.O.C. wines of Dolcetto d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, and Nebbiolo d'Alba. Hazelnuts also form an important part of the economy.
Points of interest include the Parish Church designed by Carlo Francesco which truly reflects the Piedmontese architectural style.
