PIEMONTE ITALY

Piemonte Italy > Cuneo > Monesiglio

Monesiglio situated in the Alta Langa ( Upper langhe) was built on the hills that once separated the Bormida valley from the Uzzone valley. The town, dominated by an imposing castle, maintains its medieval layout with narrow winding alleys, streets and houses.

Monesiglio is proud of its “Spring fair” Fiera delle antiche Piazze which creates a particular charm in the area. The town centre is decorated and it’s possible to visit the castle and the ancient craftsman shops, the streets are full of locals dressed in pure medieval fashion. It all creates a wonderful happy atmosphere.

There is a full range of shops, restaurants and bars which can be found in the main square. There is a substantial local market held in the main Piazza every week on a Tuesday.

Monesiglio is situated 360 metres above sea level and has a population of 755.
