Cortemilia is divided into two parts, the old displaying its distant past in the form of Romanesque-style columns and arches and a new part with a fine selection of shops, restaurants, banks and bars.
The surrounding area finds several small villages that truly represent the traditional Langhe life style with many old rustic stone houses some of which have been left to ruin and others that have been restored to their former glory.
